One click, zero spills: New DN7 quick-release coupling ready for food applications and HPC cooling

Connect, click – done. Our German partner AVS Römer has expanded its range of plastic quick-release couplings with a new DN7 size and a new material, polyketone (PK). The result is a coupling with higher flow, 100% leak-tightness and the same easy handling that the AVS Römer coupling is known for.
New: DN7 and Polyketone
With DN7, the quick-release coupling can now handle larger flow volumes. The flow-optimised design delivers low hydraulic pressure loss and high throughput, so the system runs efficiently without the coupling becoming a bottleneck.
The new material, polyketone (PK), complements the familiar plastic types and stands out for its high robustness, 100% leak-tightness and chemical resistance.
How it works?
The AVS Römer coupling makes connecting and disconnecting hoses and components quick and easy. Plug and socket are pushed together with one hand, and a distinct click confirms that the connection is secure. To disconnect, simply press the button on the socket.
No spillage: An integrated check valve prevents the medium from escaping during connection and disconnection.
No tools required: AVS Römer’s proven push-in technology makes installation in the system quick and simple.
Durable: The connection can be disconnected and reconnected as often as needed.
Optional shut-off: Available with one-way shut-off (type SVK) or two-way shut-off (type SVKR).
Materials and approvals
The quick-release couplings are available in four plastic materials: POM, PVDF, PPSU and PK. They can be combined with various seal materials. This makes them compatible with a wide range of media – including aggressive ones – and resistant to large temperature fluctuations. All variants feature integrated push-in fittings from ø4 to ø12 mm.
The couplings are also RoHS and REACH compliant and certified to EU 1935/2004.
From coffee machines to fast chargers
The food industry is the obvious field of application. With food-grade materials, the coupling fits wherever beverages and other food media need to be conveyed safely – for example in fully automatic coffee machines and other beverage equipment.
Liquid cooling of HPC charging stations is a newer and growing field. High Power Charging of electric vehicles requires efficient liquid cooling, and here the DN7 coupling’s high flow and low pressure loss provide a clear advantage. At the same time, the quick, tool-free connection and disconnection make service and maintenance easier.
